- Universal hand-held laser device
- Hand-held laser device for hardening
Why hand-held laser devices?
Why is hand-held or partly mechanized laser processing favorable?- The programming of laser guiding systems is time-consuming,
- thus, costs are high for small series manufacturing and customized parts,
- the processing of large components or the use on construction sites is not possible with the system technology currently available.
In terms of positioning accuracy, manual guidance does not allow the same precision as a mechanized handling system. However, hand-held laser material processing presents an accordingly cost-effective and flexible alternative for large workpieces and customized parts which do not require precision processing.
Features of hand-held laser devices
The principal features of hand-held laser devices are:- no programming,
- constant energy per section as a result of an integrated feed mechanism,
- applicable for all laser beam sources that can be coupled with optical fibers,
- guaranteed laser safety as a result of individual application-oriented shielding and safety mechanisms,
- easy and safe operation and handling,
- compact, modular design,
- small size, thus low weight,
- specific capturing of process emissions.
Safety aspects
A safe operation during laser material processing is guaranteed by means of the following safety features:- shielding of direct and diffuse radiation during normal operation, beam stop,
- safety equipment including safety-related parts of the control according to EN954-1 higher category 3,
- EMC check of electronics,
- protection against process emissions by means of an integrated exhaust system to capture harmful substances,
- two-hand control device.
